Chapter 4
Chapter 4 starts out by talking about how to find recent information. Some may think that when you search something up on google or safari that you are getting the most recent information but in many cases that is not true. On Googles Advance Search page you can filter data options for your searches. I feel like this is very useful if you are looking for information on a current event. There are a lot of news websites on the internet, it's easy to find news but sometimes it's not what we want to see. When I’m looking for news online, I never pick a mainstream news platform, it doesn't matter what media it is, the information is always twisted so you can hear what they want you to hear. In the book it says to find information about thew weather to go to weather.gov but I think that is unnecessary. All it takes is to type the words weather into google and you have full weeks forecast displayed right across your screen, for me having Windows 10 OS I see the weather in the bottom right corner of my screen anytime the computer is on. The web is great for finding employment, you can browse tons of jobs at home on your computer, I have never used CareerBuilder, but I have used Indeed and can say that is for the most part the same. I have heard the term public domain before but never knew what it meant; but I have written articles and papers and cited the author and the source of the material, no understanding what a public domain is I'm not sure on what a non-public domain is. I thought you could take any information from the internet as long as you cite the proper references.
